1 month of ownership...

So I'm about a month into owning my K5 GT-Line with Premium Package and growing more frustrated by the day. I only have about 600 miles so far and I've mentioned the issues that I've had in another post, with rattling being one of the issues. The rattling is progressively getting worse with each drive. It started in the headliner/moonroof area and now I'm also hearing rattling from the corners of the dash near the windshield and the steering wheel area when driving over bumpy roads.

I reached out to Kia corporate, but they just told me to go to a dealership about it. Haven't had time, but I guess that's my next move in the near future.

Hoping other owners are having a better experience with their new K5 so far.

Not so much of a rattling problem. But like a shifting plastic noise when driving or cornering. Guessing they should've used a better way to secure the plastic down to the car.

Is the rattle while driving or parked. Mine idles a little hard and I notice a rattle between the front drive seat and back seat. Something under there rattling idle vibrations.
Made a dealer appointment for Monday.
We shouldn’t have these issues with brand new cars - at least they should be properly addressed and fixed.

Hey!
What did they tell you about the car?
I’m having an occasional knocking noise wihen I turn sharp or hit a bump. It sounds like one of the glass roof panels. Can’t pinpoint it. Will take it to the dealer when I address the recall notice.

Fit and finish issues like this are the chance you take when you buy the 1st model year of a new model. I usually wait until the 2nd year so they can work the kinks out, but I really wanted to upgrade to AWD for the winter and my Optima was 5 years old. Not excusing Kia by any means, and I agree 100% that any issues should be adddressed.

Sorry you're having issues, but love the description.
First model issues. Sometimes cheaper isn't better

Thank you! Like you said, new model, comes with the territory.

My 3 week old 2022 sounds exactly the same. Drives me nuts!

Cheaper? Cheaper than what? Cheaper than a Mercedes? Cheaper than a Honda Accord? Cheaper than a Chevy Impala? What are we comparing it too? Yeah, the new 2022 K5 is cheaper than all the cars I just listed..... but there are dozens of cars cheaper than the K5 so I'm not sure what you're getting at. Does a brand new Kia Forte make even MORE noise than the K5 because it's cheaper? How much more noise does a new Honda Civic make? lolol. :D

I uear ya, i dont like the kia k5 , it feels like a forte, Super stiff suspension, steering auto correct seems to be wandering on the road, the wind pushes this vehicle around, this is one of the worst vehicles I’ve driven in the last several months. I regret this purchase. Going back to the dealership today, totally unhappy unsatisfied with this purchase
