Link to the audio recording since it wouldn't let me directly post the video
(Some AC noise is also audible I tried turning it off as I was approaching the lights so its a cleaner audio recording.)

conditions where it happens:

When I'm coming to a stop at a light it seems like when the transmission is going from 3rd down to 1st gear it just makes that grinding sound. If it isn't gearbox its definitely front to front left.

It also happens when the car is accelerating and going from 1st through to 3rd and then it doesn't happen in the higher gears.

It also happens when using the paddles to manually shifts it sorts makes that clunky grinding noise into second and back down to first.

Sounds like a metallic grinding gear noise.

I'd really appreciate a second opinion and whether or not someone else is experiencing this. My 2021 K5 GT just passed 10,000 miles. I got an oil change at 7,800 mi and I'm not due back in until 12,500 mi. I'm going on a road trip in 2 weeks and this issue is somewhat concerning.

Wow, I tried to listen closely, but I couldn't hear what you're describing. Maybe I just don't know what to listen for.

If there is a definite grinding or clunking other than the normal DCT clutch/gear downshift sounds, I'd definitely get it in to the dealer before heading out on the road.

Its sorta a crunchy grinding noise. today I went out to make sure it could be replicated before I schedule an inspection and its even crunchier today. especially shifting to and from 4th gear using the paddle shifters.

Hey I am having the exact same issue and know exactly what you’re talking about. Its like when the transmission is downshifting as your slowing down in the lower gears 1-3 its like like knocks/clunks as the tranny is getting down to the last gear before completely stopping. Did you go to the dealer and did they find anything, I take mine Tuesday to see about it. Any kind of advice would help because it’s very annoying and concerning.

I took it to the dealership and they couldn't find anything by pulling codes from the OBD2 port and they drove it and said nothing it wrong despite the issue continuing. They wouldn't let me ride with the technician on a test drive so they just told me they couldn't repeat the issue. I'd love to hear back from you when you take your car to the dealership. Curious what they might say.

Brought to a dealer they said it’s the DCT clutch and it’s suppose to make the clunk sound
