Looks like Kia is will come out with an updated version of the K5 for 2024. Found a video online apparently showing a 2024 model camouflage in a parking garage. The video is completely in Korean but they are pointing out certain sections of the vehicle that might have changes. Vehicle looks to be a GT model since it has GT on the calipers.

They do show a picture of a what they think will be in the new version.

If anyone can understand what they saying please let us what it can be.

Some of the talking points in the video are towards changes in front lights, rear lights and interior. Minimum changes to body metal.

This is what is presented in the video so this is all speculation.

These are screen grabs from the video.

Car Wheel Vehicle Tire Hood

Front end changes to the head lights and running lights.

Car Wheel Tire Vehicle Vehicle registration plate

Backend changes

Vehicle Gear shift Car Motor vehicle Speedometer

And interior.

This is a Korean Spec car meaning many of this may not reach the states just like in the current model.

Lines are basically the same. That was definitely a 1.6 car in the video. You can tell by looking under the front plate on those close ups.

I hope the interior updates carry through. The digital dash looks very similar to my wife's Sportage and we like that system.

If those new front end pics are to be believed it looks like they are trying to recapture some of the soon to be defunct stinger.

I just hope they keep or even increase performance.

The front looks like an evolution of the LX/LXS/EX front so it's not too bad. I just don't dig the rear... lol It's not that it's too bland for me, but the way the taillights have that blade going down the sides like that really breaks the flow of the taillights design. It just looks very tacky. Maybe the final design will be something different.

I’m confused by the dropping sales figures. I’ve never seen more than two on a lot while there’s always at least ten Fortes. Hard to sell what’s not there. I thought the problem was they weren’t producing them in favor of more profitable SUVs

The numbers by themselves don't tell the full story. Remember, there was a "pandemic" and a computer chip shortage that curtailed production. I just watched a documentary that pointed out that car production in the U.S. dropped below 1/3 of the average yearly production numbers in 2022.

Add the inflation numbers coupled with higher interest rates and sales will falter.

...and then there's the political factor. Sometimes mindless and tactless idiots get elected.

Didn't the new K5 just roll out in 2021? Seems awfully quick for a new skinning. Usually new model updates are every 5 years. Further if it's a 2024 rollout that means it'd be hitting the dealerships late summer or fall. In that case, why a camo'd version now? Seems to me, this would more likely be a 2025 release.

Going to be a hard sell. K5 still has sagging numbers. See my chart below, data taken from Kia Media. Ignore Feb 2023, I had to put a zero there for January to plot.

They've typically done three years of a new generation followed by a mid-cycle update for two years. Then a new generation comes out. Five years for each generation.

3rd Gen:
2011-2013
Refresh:
2014-2015

4th Gen:
2016-2018
Refresh:
2019-2020

5th Gen:
2021-2023
Refresh:
2024-2025

Hard to make assumptions of car cancellations when you consider sales of Stingers are a 3rd of K5 sales yet the Stinger is still sold. EV6 sales are LOW, Carnival sales are LOW, Rio sales are low - all are continued to be sold.

The 23 sales of K5s was heavily affected by low production numbers. My local dealer has been getting them in more often now.

Does show dual exhausts. Bump in horsepower for both engine version?
