My new 2021 k5 ex did not come with uvo. I hate the factory kia fob remote starter. Can I add uvo to my car? Anyone know of a good aftermarket car starter that works on 2021 k5 (smartphone app ablility)?

You can add UVO to the car. I know that for a fact because I looked into it I just never got a price. Probably a couple hundred. If you do aftermarket, it voids all electrical warranties. Same with installing new speakers.

If you get a quote on UVO let me know what it is because I am still interested lol I have the GT-Line

I thought gt line came with uvo? I thought my ex was supposed to have it...my mistake. I will let u know. I wonder if I have to get it through kia dealer? Or if outside party can install uvo.

I just heard from sales manager at my dealer and he is saying it CANNOT be installed after...?

I'm 100% positive it can only. legally be installed by the dealership because its a protected piece of equipment/technology. I wish it came stock with UVO. I hate the range of the fob starter. I'd be better off half the time just walking to the car and turning it on myself that way it stays on for a half hour rather than 10 mins lol

My sales guy said it could. Then again they talk out their *** a lot. I guess best guess would ask the tech team there rather than them.

So apparently you can have car starter installed by a "certified" installer and it won't affect the warranty. I have a pdf document explaining that.
