Just picked up the GT Line AWD, Glacier White on Sunday. Traded in my 2018 Honda Accord 1.5 L Sport.

Loved the Honda, but not many options on it.

Already ordered the Weather Tech Winter molded mats, Kia Mud Guards, and the windows are getting tinted to 20% on Saturday.

Probably going to have the Chrome Trim Strip wrapped in Gloss Black come spring.

Was holding out for the Full GT, but after reading numerous comments about the new motor overpowering the front wheels in lower speeds and as it does not have limited slip. Decided I would go this route.

If they ever add AWD to it, that may be a game changer.

So right out of the gate, I want to change out the stock door speakers for Kicker 6.5" CS Series. I did this in my Accord and even using the stock head unit made a world of difference. The K5 head unit also seems to have more than enough power. (for me)

So the question is, has anybody removed the inner door panels yet? Looking for directions on how to start and what to watch for. Don't want to break something right off the bat. Can't find any You tube videos.

Check the info here: Worth installing an amp + sub? (EX, no Bose)

I may start by upgrading my door speakers before going for the full amp/sub install.

Welcome Mike!

Cincinnati area member here. Just bought a red GT-Line on Wednesday and need to do all the fun upgrades (Badging, window tint, speaker swap.)
How much did that place charge for tinting? And did you change out your speakers yet? (Wondering how much that improved it)

The tint was $300.00 even included 5.0” strip across the top of the windshield. If you don’t want that then it’s $60.00 less so $. 240.00 total

speakers made big difference as the tweeters in the dash only provided any decent midrange or highs. The new kickers are co ax so really improved the midrange an highs sound and the bass is better

speakers worth every nickel. Improved sound significantly. Stock unit has plenty of power to make these sing

I did it myself, very easy to do.. if you order off of Crutchfield, they send the speaker adapters and plug n play wire connectors free of charge.
There is one screw under the door handle, remove it and start at the bottom of the door center and using a plastic pry, pry out and you will here the snap, continue across bottom and sides, lift up off of top edge, unplug one main wiring connector and door handle release and the panels off. Took me about a little over an hour for all four speakers. There is a good write up on here with picture. Just have to find it

Mike, I meant to ask if you would post some pics of your K5 with the window tinting? I will probably wait till better weather to have it done. Going back n forth on deciding between 35% and 20%. I think it was 35% on my '11 Optima (Ziebart...won't use them for K5).

Thanks!
