As far as I can tell there aren’t any tuners out there yet for our engine as it’s brand newHas anyone installed a chip on non gt yet?
AEM and injen are working on it also.My question is has anyone found an intake for it yet or an exhaust.
Didn’t know they had one out yet. I emailed jb4 and they are saying it’ll be compatible with our cars in Early Spring. How does the performance feel with the Thorton chip?I did. Thorton Chip Tuning. Made it a bit spunkier and got me into the 40s mpg on the highway. For $80 it was worth it.
How long have you been running it? Definitely interested but do not want to run into issues, just picked up my new GT line Saturday and love it, but would like a little more pep. It’s nothing crazy but it does set you back on your seat. Still think an intake would help it get more out of the chip.
I’ve been running it for a couple months and haven’t had any issues. It doesn’t do anything instantly it takes like around 100 miles for it to learn and remap. It’s really easy to remove when taking it on for service too, just don’t hit the reset button when doing it or you have to wait another 100miles to learn and remap again. I take it out before taking it in for service just in case the dealer throws a fit about it. Not taking the chance of loosing my warranty on a first year model. Once removed dealership can’t tell it was ever there and I like that better than a reprogrammed ecm.How long have you been running it? I was like first to order one. I was checking their site daily till it was released.I’ve been running it for a couple months and haven’t had any issues. Well, I just ordered one. Kinda weird that their PayPal is tied to a Hotmail account and the merchant is a different name entirely. As well as the fact that the map after checkout shows Washington State and their address is in Georgia.I was like first to order one. I was checking their site daily till it was released.
Hi, did you choose stage 1, 2 or 3? Are there more risks with stage 3 vs stage 1?It’s nothing crazy but it does set you back on your seat. Still think an intake would help it get more out of the chip.
I did the stage 3. Figure if I’m doing it go all the way.Hi, did you choose stage 1, 2 or 3? Are there more risks with stage 3 vs stage 1?

Let me know what you find. I haven’t tried anything but regular octane in mine.I ordered one the other day shipped yesterday. So I should be able to give feedback by end of week as I drive about 60 miles a day for work. I gonna use the TRC app to get a before and after 0-60 then one the tank runs out I’m gonna refuel with 93 and reset the chip and redo all the testing to see if it does any better.
Are you using higher octane?I did the stage 3. Figure if I’m doing it go all the way.
Thornton chips are a well known scam. They advertise adding 60 HP to a NA Honda Civic. LOLWhile I'd love to be able to get 60hp for $80 after reading this I'm not so sure: https://www.performancechipguide.com/superobd-performance-chip-review-teardown/
Can anyone comment because it sure sounds like the Thornton OBD tuners are an outright scam. Tell me that article it wrong... please.
