Ok, I know this might sound a bit weird, but I noticed that I get car sick often when I drive my K5, but no other vehicle. At first, I thought it was just me, but the other day, my GF also mentioned that she always gets car sick when she rides in the K5 with me. I did some digging and there were a few optimas that had issues with some distortion on the windshield that was making some people feel dizzy.

Has anyone else had this happen to you? Am I just going nuts?

Yes this has happened to me a few times. Had to get out and get some fresh air. Also the seat doesn't conform to my back well and on long drives I get out of the car and can barely walk. I've tried lumbar adjustment and everything. I've never had this problem before in any car I've owned.

Does this have to do with the windshield defrosted? If you look closely, there are tiny little wavy lines. I've gotten used to it and don't even notice them anymore unless I look for them wich might get me feeling "dizzy".

Not car sick but I've noticed that I get a lot more headaches since I got my k5 in December. Also the windshield doesn't allow the water from rain to go up and over it just collects on the windshield till it gets heavy enough to slide down.

I'm replacing my audio equipment (sans head unit) and I've noticed some allpass filters in the OEM tuning. The speakers are somewhat out of phase in various frequency ranges... enough that it was noticeable to my ears and was a big part of why I wanted to replace the OEM equipment. There's a filter centered around 125Hz that is especially annoying. When I apply appropriate time alignment to center the soundstage they are nearly 180 degrees out of phase (in one seat) and it's very apparent.

I wonder if your disorientation could be related. I suspect it would be worse at higher volume. Is the same person affected by this when sitting in the passenger seat? Perhaps try driving with the radio off for a couple days to see if the feeling persists.

I could be way off... just a thought.

Finally rained the other day briefly. Camera shows a lot better than through eyesight. but still pretty blurry and that's like 30 seconds of really small drizzle and ne driving at like 35 mph
Hey, I would definitely give your car a good wash then either applying wax or a hydrophobic layer like Rain X on it. That should get the water beaded up and off your windshield faster.

If you don't want to do a full wash yet, you can also get some automotive glass cleaner and wipe it down before applying the wax or Rain X. Just remember to put your windshield wipers into Service Mode first so you can move the wipers out of the way!

To get them into Service Mode, turn your car ACC on (your engine doesn't need to be on, just the electrical stuff like the dash, radio, and A/C) then turn it off. Within 2-3 secs of turning off everything, push and hold the wiper lever up into MIST mode until the blades sweeps up and stops in the middle. You should be able to swing the blades outwards so you can wipe the whole windshield down.

Oh, and don't forget to give the blades a good wipe with a damp cloth or towel to keep them clean.
