I had a resinator and muffler delete and added a high flow off-road cat the other day now my check engine light is on. I talked to Kia service and they said that its because I used aftermarket parts and it shouldn't cause any problems but they did say I won't know if anything goes wrong because the light is already on. I went back had the welds checked and they got my check engine light off but it came back on again this morning. Has anyone had this problem or can anyone help me out with some advise?

Alot of times adding a high flow cat or catless “test” pipe will throw a check engine light from the down stream (rear o2 sensor) normally have to have the rear o2 turned off or deleted via tune/tuner to get rede of the check engine light,

some people have had success using defoulers or o2 spacers but no clue if they have em for our cars

It has gone off and come back on, idk if its just me but it seems to run better when the light goes off but it doesn't stay off very long
I have the exact same problem. Did muffler and resonator delete and added a flow master. Taken it to couple different shops but no one has an answer for me. Not even kia. Very frustrating

Did you ask about getting the rear 02 censor turned off?
the code is P0471 which is a back pressure this, this doesn’t have to do with the o2 sensor unless ur catless in which case you’ll get thrown a diff code. Either get a tune to delete the code or have something to give it enough back pressure (I found that hi flow cat in place of the resonator/secondary cat works)

I have it on and off as well but I’m straight piped. I don’t really notice a diff in performance with it on/off. Even when the CEL isn’t on, I scan and get the same code

Ok let me know what you find out
So my car is a 2022 and no shop has updated scanners yet so they can’t do a tune to delete code. Also the guy said turning off the sensor doesn’t always work and could be risky. I ended up putting the converter and resonator back on with a flow master muffler and it still sounds great. Just no popping but also no check engine light!

I think res delete with a high flow cat would get rid of the cel.

Just a heads up, I was told the res and converter delete was the cause of the cel, that’s why I put back on. Or if you use any pipes more then stock 2.25” but I wish you luck! Let me know how it works, cause if so I might do similar.

hi flow cat in place of the res/cat gets rid of the CEL. I had that setup before
