Picked up my black beauty k5 ex yesterday. Remote start on fob not app. Push button ignition. How do I drive off without having to restart car? Why no DTRL after remote start? I had third party app remote start on my 2016 optima. Seriously thinking of buying another app one. Kicking myself for not removing from trade in. Also notice annoying wind noise at driver window on highway. Love the new car but honestly feel like I stepped down in quality compared to my 2016 optima.

I have gt line with remote start. After you hit the remote start and the car turns on. As long as the car is still running all you gotta do is get in and drive you don’t have to hit the start/stop button inside the car. Also if while on remote start you open the door and then get out with out driving the car will shut off. Hope that helps.

As soon as I press brake to shift into reverse the engine shuts off. Then I have to restart car which seems stupid.

Hmm not with mine, I know with my Honda. I would have to hit the start/stop button to override the remote start then I could shift from park with out the car turning off.
Yes my 2016 optima (app starter on phone) same push ignition 1 time to engage. This k5 is a fob ...if I either press brake or press ignition button engine shuts off. Do u know if I can add (buy) uvo if my model didn't come with it?

Hmm. Unfortunately I do not know. I know my gt line has uvo which is one step below the ex trim which come with uvo standard at least here in States. So unless it’s different in Canada you should have uvo and at least here in the states you get one year of uvo for free.

Canada must be diff...some things seem standard in states that I didn't get in ex. Misleading tbh.

I dont have uvo just fob start. and the dtrl blink a few times but dont stay on until I've climbed into the car and put it into drive/reverse/etc
So when you get in you depress brake to shift into reverse/drive and it doesn't turn off? Any chance you get alot of wind noise when on highway at driver door?

Mines the same as greywolfs. As long as it's within the 10min time limit of the remote start. I can get in mine and as soon as I hit the break it goes from remote start on to full on(lights, dash, normal on). I don't have to push button again.

Do you have uvo? Maybe that's the diff even if using fob but car equipped with uvo. Mine is fob only. Hmmm I'll call today.

Wondered the same, how come no lights on to let us know it's running. I know lost cars do this.
