My husband bought me K5 gt line one month ago as an anniversary gift. and it has really really annoying wind noise on the driver's side. I was really surprised! Plus it doesn't have wireless android auto function!!!! I contacted Kia cooperate they said they will contact me in 2 or 3 days but I didn't hear from them almost for a week. I called them twice like some stalker. Still waiting... I am really upset about their way of treating their customers!

From what I heard the 8" info screen comes with wireless Android auto. But the 10" screen does not. That was one of the deciding factors when I bought mine. I chose the 8", but now looking back i usually plug phone in because it charges faster, the wireless charge works fine but faster is better😁. But the 8" doesn't come with the splitscreen capability the 10" i think does. Have small maps and radio on same screen would be nice. So who knows if I'd pick 8" again. Prob but I'd have a more thoughtful decision.

Also I haven't noticed any wind noise when I have the window down.
Thank you for your answer.
The problem is we didn't pick 10" screen and the sticker on our car says it is 8" screen.
And the most annoying thing is too loud wind noise. It is only from driver side. It feels like iI am driving empty can. I can't believe they make this low quality car. I know that this car is beautiful and has good feature but who wants to drive that keeps making loud noise all the time???

Thank you!
It's good to hear that other cars don't have this problem. One mechanic said all k5 have same problem because of its design. Duh.
Wind noise can come from a bad windshield seal or raised trim. It can also be an issue with door molding or your driver's side window alignment. In any case, have the dealer look at it as a warranty issue. You might mention to them that there's a K5 service advisory that includes windshield trim inspection and repair [SA431r2]/[SA431]

As for wireless Android Auto, sadly, many Android phones don't support it. See the following thread for more info:

Good luck!

It's been almost 5 months since we bought our K5 and started talking to Kia about serious wind noise.
It only occurs on the driver's side and we notified Kia almost right after we purchased the car.
They rejected our request for an exchange because the problem doesn't warrant it, under VA state law.
However, we bought their car because we trusted Kia, not the state.
This is between Kia and their customers.
We sent them videos and the numbers on the decibel meter which significantly shows the problem.
One time I was driving with my friend and she said she heard the noise and it was very embarrassing because it is a new car and the noise was so loud!!! Should I be embarrassed every time someone is in my car, after paying $30,000 for a new one???
After so many calls and emails for several months they finally told us that they may give us some type of compensation 2 weeks ago but they still silent, and not replying to my emails.

Kia always told us they will contact us but they hardly ever called, so we have to keep calling them.
I feel like I got scammed.

I am going through EXACTLY the same thing! They said you can try lemon law but that's more trips to the shop, this and that. Dealer told me it's a manufacturer defect and I havw to take it up with Kia, didn't want to/nor suggest serving it. Idk what to do. I also do not have wireless andriod auto. I need to bring that up with them.

Well i use to owned a 2006 optima and it was the same issue. Do not know why in 2021 they still have that wind noise
Dealer doesn't want to look at it. Says Kia has to handle it as it's a manufacturer defect. So 1) wind noise into the cabin that you can hear from passenger side 2) wireless andriod auto doesnt work 3) awd is all weather drive

I was ****** at first the higher end Bose 10inch didn’t have wireless CarPlay, so I bought a $100 wireless car play adapter and I think it works better then the built in one on lower end versions. I see all these disconnects and random issues and I haven’t had any!

The link: CarlinKit 2.0 Wireless CarPlay... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089W6NR12?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I simply plugged it in, connected the Bluetooth and poof, works awesome. I leave the Bluetooth on my phone on, so every time I hop in I just put it in the wireless holder and It connects and does everything for me. Only issue is a 3 sec audio delay, so videos are delayed and slight delay on music when changing songs. No biggie to me at least

Did the dealer explain to you that the car did come with that feature before finalizing the sale?
He sure did. We sat there for 30 mins and I was like “bro, you were wrong, I don’t think it does” it in fact DOES NOT. I wish I would of complained more but with seeing the issues on the lower end models, I’m glad I had to buy a airplay wireless kit. Seems less buggy.
