Finally Found My First K5 GT Complaint

I finally found something I don't like on my K5.

The 2.5T engine's engine cover DOES NOT have access to the oil fill cap!!!!

WHY did Kia make it like that?

You have to remove the engine cover to change the oil.

The oil fill cap is under the oil symbol on the engine cover - circled in red:

That is silly!

If you take your GT to a "QUICKIE Oil Change Company" you better make sure they put your cover back on...:)

I noticed this difference too.
It’s a minor inconvenience for me as I do my own oil changes, but since it’s only something I have to do every 6 to 12 months, I can live with it.
I can’t remember if it was a K5 or another make of vehicle but I did see someone’s pictures of a modified engine cover giving them access to the oil cap. They simply used a hole saw and cut an opening right above the cap.

I have been considering cutting a hole in it...but I want it to look good too...:)
The on-line Kia K5 service manual shows an exposed oil fill cap on the 2.5 (I think this might be the 2.5 NON-Turbo engine - I wonder if it will fit the 2.5T):
