Watching several youtube videos on 21-23 K5 GTs I've noticed that the headlights are different - I think the difference is with or without the GT1 package?

Example - youtube video '23 K5 GT - with GT1 package 3 light pods in headlight:

My '23 K5 GT - Non-GT1 package 4 light pods in headlight:

Wonder why the difference?

Are they both LED versions?

Which headlight do you have?

The headlights are cooler in color, but it should be looking white with a tinge of blue along the edges. My car's headlights are as white as any other cars out there with LED headlights, which includes Hondas, Toyota, VWs, Volvos, etc.

If your headlights are a deep violet color then you might want to get it looked at. The city I live in and other surrounding cities have been rolling out white LED street lamps and it's been quite often that the lights end up turning almost ultra violet within the year. I've read that it's due to the cheap LEDs that they've been using. I'm not sure if that is what you are experiencing with your headlights but if it is, then this would be the first time I've heard about it.

Okay so now I think I get it:

LXS, GT-Line, EX, and GT get 4 pod (reflector?) headlights and GT w/GT1 gets 3 pod (projector?) headlights. NOT CORRECT - still trying to find out which lights are on which model and why...

We have some street lights in town that are extremely violet - I think this might be the reason...lol

The "3-pod" LED projection headlights are only on models with the Premium Package option included. The regular "4-pod" LED reflector headlights are standard on all models.

Looks like the EX owners don't get the LED projectors even with Premium package - according to Kia.com:

Knowing this it makes it nearly impossible to identify the model of K5 you come up on from the front when driving.

I will try and get a picture of them to show the color that they are. And they have been this way since I bought it.

Yes, that is a GTL with Prem Package just like mine. '22 GTL Prem Package came with panoramic sunroof. And the '22 GTL without Prem Package didnt come with a panoramic sunroof and had the 4 reflector headlights.

Also, if you werent more confused. The '21 GTL non prem package and all LX/LXS came with the 8.5" infotainment. Only the '21 GTL with Prem Package was upgraded to 10.5". In '22, all GTLs came with 10.5" while the LX/LXS still came with 8.5".

To add to that, the 21' GT-Line with the Panoramic Sunroof comes with the "AWD Premium Package"...but that is different from the optional "Premium Package". The '21 GT-Line AWD with the standard "AWD Premium Package" has the upgraded projection LED headlights but retains the smaller 8.5" screen with wireless AA/AC. If you opt for the other "Premium Package" option, you do away with wireless AA/AC in favor of the 10.25" screen as well as all the features you get with the larger screen option, including Navigation-based SCC.

And yes, I do have the AWD GT-Line without the additional "Premium Package", just the standard "AWD Premium Package" that comes with it. it also has things unique to the AWD model, such as heated steering wheel and seats (only, no cooled seats) and a dedicated "Snow Mode".

According to Kia.com the EX premium doesn't come with the 3 LEDs. Anyone with an EX Premium can you confirm this?

I could have sworn that the '21 and '22 EX models with the Premium Package had the LED Projector headlights... Really curious as to why they did away with them for the '23 models. Also, I noticed the side mirrors with turn signals on the EX models are only present with the Premium Package as well.

It does show the Projector headlights for the 2021 EX Premium but the 2022 shows the Projector headlights not available:
