Hello all. I am shopping and want a K5 GT with GT1 package but I can not find anywhere. There is one in Illinois where I live and it they are asking for 7,000 over MSRP!!!!

does anyone have any insight on when this trim will be more readily available?

any insight is appreciated

Not sure when it’s going to be more readily available but have you thought about going to a dealer and building one up on the website and just paying straight MSRP for it. That’s what I did for my Telluride and then waited...lock in the price...

I wasn't even in the market for a GT and decided to drop by the kia dealer near my house. Sales manager informed me they're receiving a wolf grey GT so I jumped on it.
Was supposed to get there about 2-3 weeks after the visit but came earlier. I bought it on the spot. He's not sure if they'll get another by thus summer. Not sure why.
Now that I have one, I don't mind the "exclusivity" lol
Hope you get yours soon... You won't regret it.

I may go this route.

I’m in Glenview IL and the local KIA dealers suck compared to the excellent products they are making
Do you like your experience at any IL dealers ?

Not yet I have not. I have been unimpressed. Salesman in Joliet did not know what a dct transmission was or what the engine size was in a stinger compared to k5 gt.
Dealer closest to my home (about 5 mi.) also tried the "over MSRP" crap, so I went to a dealer a bit further away and worked out a great deal for their 1 and only GT w/GT1 Package. Manager said the 2.5L Turbo is constrained and Kia is prioritizing the Sorento (I think it was the Sorento) over the K5. Not expecting another GT for many months.

One thing I would say is hit up CarGurus if you aren't already I was close to driving a coupe hundred miles to get the GT1 but they kepts selling the color I wanted before I would have time to drive that far.

Of note there is a white one in Ottawa, IL (Bill Walsh)
Red: Janesville WI(Janesville Kia)
Red: Moline, IL (Courtesy)
Sapphire: Sheboygan, WI (Van Horn)

I chose to start in a Joliet zipcode so I don't know how close any of those are but each of them are within 160 or so miles of the zip I used.
I personally used Cars.com myself, but I also checked other sites as well for price comparisons.
2021 K5 GT, w/GT1 package, hard to come by in Texas. I found 1 in Tyler 3 hrs away. Blue/Black interior. It took me allmost a year to find 1.
Was quoted 49K OTD on GT with GT1 package in metro Atlanta. I advised the salesman that I would hold onto my 2016 until the chip shortage levels off. I understand they need to mark way over sticker to survive due to inventory shortages.
49 usd?? I'll sell mine for 40k usd 😁

Yep. USD. They want minimum $5,700 over sticker. Wouldn't budge. I'll let someone else take it dry. LOL
After searching on listing sites almost daily for 5-6 weeks and making calls, I just purchased my '22 sapphire GT with GT1 package a few hours ago. I called dealers from 3-5 states away. Half the dealers sites weren't up-to-date. They'd be sold and gone, but still listed. I spoke with 9 different dealerships before finding a sapphire one with GT1 package that wasn't marked up 5k+ (it wasn't marked up at all). I did have a $900 delivery charge, but it saves me a 12 hour road trip, plus the miles.
Nice job Andy. A few dealers won't give prices over the phone, but would lie and say they are selling for sticker just to get you in the door and wear you down with market adjustments tacked on. Glad you were able to find a great car and a decent deal. Never thought I'd say paying sticker is decent, but these are difficult times we are living in. Now if they would only make the GT with red interior....
Chicago area here.

I gave up trying to find a gt w/gt1 package at reasonable price. Went with a stinger gt-line instead. ~$3K below msrp for an awd model. Car is plenty fast, not as much tech as the k5 gt w/gt1, but still sufficient.

@Ardy, once you break yours in, post if you experience wheel spin issues in the lower gears like all the reviews seem to claim.
