Im not trying to start the apple vs android argument. I use both for work and personal. When I use wireless android auto I have no issues. When I use iPhone I get drops. Which makes me think its not on the cars end. There is another thread about this also.

I have read all the threads. It’s an iOS issue for sure although I did see someone say they had issues with their android. Unfortunately, I can’t just go out and buy a new phone especially when the brochure says how great it is to use apple CarPlay without having to connect through a USB.

No I get that. I wasn't saying to go run out and buy an android, I know I wouldn't. Its very frustrating being told something works and on something we have spent so much money on. I was just saying there is another thread that if you hadn't read through it. It might be worth a read through and follow.

After owning my new KiaK5 GT Line for three days and my car play disconnecting every 10 minutes as many of you have also gone through, my apple CarPlay will not connect at all. I have reached out to the dealership and corporate. What a dud! So mad. Anyone else dealing with this utter failure?
So many people are having the same problem with apple CarPlay including myself although it didn’t happen till I updated my iPhone 11 can’t find a fix anywhere

Yeah its the newest iOS update. I think it's the 14.2. The only fix right now is if you want to take your chances downgrading your phone or if you have another iPhone that hasn't been updated, and using that one.

I just bought a 2021 Sorento Hybrid over the weekend with wireless CarPlay. I’m getting the constant and random disconnect messages too. I have an iPhone 6S and 8 both running 14.3. I got the disconnect with 14.2 as well. It really sucks because you can’t just plug up a USB to do wired CarPlay, the damn car ONLY lets you do wireless for CarPlay even though they let you do wired for Android Auto! WTFffffffff!

Yes. Very frustrating! I can’t believe they didn’t fix it with the new update.

I'm experiencing a similar issue with my 2021 K5 GT line. I updated the software according to guidelines but that did not help. I'm still dropping connection with my iPhone XR and 11.

I agree with It is very frustrating that we can not use a USB cable for Carplay.

Yeh, its still an issue. I've just learned to deal with it and found certain ways to troubleshoot when the screen goes black or the CarPlay stops working entirely.
