I put a subwoofer in last weekend. Had to pull the radio for the install. If anyone needs any input, let me know. I've also installed heated seats, an auto dimming homelink rearview mirror and will be installing leather in a few weeks. So I do and will have a good understanding of seating r & I and constant, accessory and ignition wire colors and location. I'd be happy to help walk anyone through any of these installs

Hi Bruce. Looking to buy a k5gt when they come out. Would like to install sub asap. What model do you have? Wondering where the amp is and what color the sub wires are on bose 12 speaker system. Anybody have an ex. Bose audio 12 speaker is also available on that trim level. I would guess the amp is behind the trunk liner on the right side if it's anything like my 16 optima.

That's great. I plan on picking up the subwoofer signal at the amp. I'm thinking that would be the easiest place as the oem sub is wired from under the rear shelf, not accessible from the trunk. Something else I can't find any info on is the specs on the bose amp. Even emailed bose and they would not tell me. It's almost as if they are hiding something. Anyway the wire colors would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, mike

Hi Bruce, thanks for posting the wiring chart for the k5 gt bose premium 12 speaker. The fact that it shows the sub output from the oem amp is a single channel leads me to an install question. I have the signal going through a high to low adapter and would like to keep it to retain its remote level control. Do you think I will be ok to run the single channel oem output to both input channels of the adapter so that I have 2 channels for my sub amp input. Thanks in advance.

Super easy actually. Mirror is standard mount, T15 or T20 screw. You can lower the sun visor and retainer to allow you to tuck the wires a bit easier. This will help prevent creasing the headliner. It's pretty thin and brittle on the edges. If you feel comfortable, you can remove the A Pillar plastic, but just know, that there is an air bag running behind there, so if you haven't removed these before, I would stay away from that and just pull down the rubber door seal and gently tuck the wires behind the cover. On the lower dash, there is a fuse block cover, remove that and all your wiring is right there. If you have the auto dimming with homelink, You will have 3 wires on the mirror: 12v constant power (yellow if I remember correctly), 12v switched power (red) and ground (black). If it's just auto dimming, just switched power and ground. I will attach the wiring info as well. Good luck to you! Let me know if you have any more questions.

So I got 3M ceramic 30% on the rear windows and now even tailgaters lights don't bother me, lol. Guess I can skip the auto dimming mirror.

Bruce, you got any thoughts on hardwiring a dashcam?
Shouldn't be an issue. Just grab ignition in lower dash. Pull the cover for the fuse block, all your wires are right there.

I have a 21 gt line awd non amplified system. I wanna put a sub in it. What wires do I need to spice for the low pass filter out of the rear door speakers? Also how hard is it to pull the head unit out?
