It arrives tomorrow. Can't wait to install that thing.

I'll try to post some pics and vids. Supposedly it's rated at +9 hp and +24 lb/ft torque, so let's see how it feels and sounds.

I'm excited! Anyone else installed a aftermarket intake system? How'd it go? LMK!

Enjoy your K5's everybody!

Have fun customizing/personalizing your K5!

I installed a K&N intake in my K5 GT (modified - made for Sorento). I like the intake sounds...:)

Can you share some feedback on this K&N intake? Any noticable increase in power that you can actually feel? Has gas mileage increased? Done any 0-60 tests?
Also, can you confirm adding this intake won't void the car warranty?

Intakes do not void warranty. Only thing that voids warranty is if you did something that directly causes such issue. For example, if you did an intake or exhaust, and your transmission goes out, that is not related. However if you tune your vehicle and it results in engine failure, then yes that would void warranty. But if you’re still iffy about it, it’s always good to check with the dealer as I have. Also note, springs void warranty, however coil overs do not.

You mentioned that this was made for a Kia Sorento and then was modded to fit into the K5. What modding exactly was needed to get it to fit the K5? On a side note it seems lame that they make an intake for a freakin Sorento but not for he K5. EDIT Doh I just realized yours was a GT not a GT-Line.

On my wife's we ended up going with an el cheapo one off Ebay as seen in the pic below. For the guy asking about warranty voiding, we have been to the dealership twice since having this intake on (for oil changes) and the hood gets popped for that and they have never said jack to us. There are no carb stickers or decals anywhere on it.

Where did you buy it. Directly from k&N ?
According to K&N dyno runs...

But how is performance?
I'd say the Dyno results seem accurate. I do feel like there's a little bump in performance, maybe in line with their +12% torque and +5% hp gains. But the more prominent and noticeable aspect of this mod for me is the engine growl under forceful acceleration. I highly recommend it.

I actually got it from Amazon, cuz they were still selling it on sale for $299. K&N direct had gone back to $349 (although I just checked and it looks like they have it on sale for 299 again)

The Magnuson-Moss act says that any aftermarket modification done to your car has to be proven to be the cause of the issue before denying a warranty claim.
