Hey, I just started doing mods to my K5 gt line. I was thinking about maybe adding a duck bill and a chrome delete. So far I’ve just done a muffler delete, added quad tips, and slapped on some 19 inch gold Motegi rims. Do you guys have any other suggestions?

Welcome to k5owners.

Looks like you've got a handle on mods already...:)

If you change the spoiler - are you aware that the little factory spoiler is held down by 6 studs and there are 6 square holes in the trunk lid you'll need to seal from water intrusion?

Welcome to the fam.

Swap the signal bulb to LED to remove the amber glow. Reverse is hyper white LED to see better when reversing

Thanks for the tip GlacialWhiteGT. I’ll keep that in mind. I also forgot to mention that I swapped the lower rear bumper from the GT line to the GT model to fit my exhaust better.

Nice color combination! I had been wondering how gold rims would look like on a blue K5 for a while now. lol Always had a soft spot for the blue with gold rims look ever since seeing the combo on the old Subaru WRX rally cars.
Where'd you find the GT lower valance for exhaust tips, and how'd they run the quad tips underneath?

I went through the dealership and ordered the exact same part from the GT model and installed it myself on my GT line. I didn’t like the idea of just cutting out the plastic. The ones I’ve seen look kind of tacky. But it was just a simple Y axis pipe and a muffler delete. The fuel vapor canister did have to be slightly shifted to the side, so I just added some support hangers.

when you ordered the Gt parts did the dealer tell you that it could void your warranty? i just got my first oil change on my GT but i want to install a BOV but dont wanna worry about warranty issues.

He used a factory Kia part that was NOT originally part of his car. Technically, if the lower bumper cover breaks or cracks due to a manufactured defect the only warranty would be as a factory ordered part - usually one year from date of purchase.

If you install an aftermarket BOV you won't void your car's warranty - HOWEVER, if you have a problem that is BOV related (leaking BOV seal, DTC for incorrect boost pressure, or DTC for a faulty RCV solenoid for example) then Kia will not honor the warranty repair.

If you install an aftermarket exhaust it will not void your warranty, HOWEVER, if you have a problem with your exhaust (DTC for incorrect backpressure, for example) then Kia will not honor warranty repairs specifically for exhaust related problems.

Any system on your car that you alter - it would not be Kia's fault if you have a problem with that system.
