This is either going to be fun, or catastrophic. Time will tell and I am here to learn as I transform her to fit my vision.

I took delivery of Bloodshot on March 12th with 12 miles on the clock. Within the first 100 miles, my SRS light came on. Contacted the dealer for them to look it over and they found the driver side buckle to be faulty, and it was replaced under warranty. Right now, she has over 1k miles and no other issues have come up. Made it through the break in period and its time to do an oil change.

Enjoy my success/failure as I become a friend/foe with this beast. That being said, lets see how far I get on this build before I pawn it onto someone else 😏

I do like the new KIA badge, but never liked the clutter of emblems. I like the clean badge less look of a trunk lid. Bought a 12lb fishing line from Walmart. Blue painters tape to keep the paint from scratches and my GF's hair dryer. With some Goo Gone and the badges were still freshly installed, clean up was a breeze.
I might find a home in the interior for the K5 and GT Line emblems. Right now, its sitting on a shelf in the garage.

Chrome delete in gloss black and faux trim in matte black. PPF headlights, mirror caps, and door cups.

Lowered the car on M&S Storm springs. The rears was zero fun to do. Well worth the work in the end.

Damn, you missing the nice carbon fiber front splitter and side skirts that look fantastic on the wolf grey
I will get them in the not so distant future. I have a do list and that's at the bottom. It will make its way to the top 😉
After having the chrome delete done for a few months now. Im thinking about removing the wrap and going back to chrome. The finished product didnt turn out the way that I wanted it to look. It couldve been the installer or the brand of wrap used. If a company makes black chrome version, I'll jump on it if the price is right

Pic of the other day when I woke up to wash her. Mother nature did a prewash. I forgot to take an after pic

What is it that you are not happy with? I am thinking of doing the chrome delete on mine, which is black. Yours looks great from what I see.

Looks great from a distance. It isnt smooth looking when up close. Im my own critic. I believe its the installer that either was rushing or inexperienced on doing chrome delete. His specialty is full wrap

Wheels in progress of a color change. The sandblasting removed all the color to bare metal. Getting it ready for powder coat. Color TBA when its finished

Sometimes the journey to the end comes with bumps and bruises. Today was one of them days where I got a little to close to another car and did a fender bender oopsie. Im more hurt than she is. Long story short, we both tried to merge into the middle lane on a 6 lane road and occupy it at the same time. I just need a fender. Hoping to find one in grey and an LED headlight. The front bumper looks like it is just paint scrape

how much did you lower bloodshot with those springs? And how difficult is it to do yourself for a non mechanic?

My new wheels are in transit. no more than 60 days out according to the salesguy at discount tire, hopefully the 30 days he said was minimum.

The M&S springs on their website and what they said in communication with me through emails is way off. My AWD was lowered by 2.25" front and 2.5" rear. I plan to get the rears raised by .25". I have an idea how to do it, but it will be trial and error. Eibach is looking for someone to volunteer their car for R&D for their Pro Kit. If you're in SoCal, they're in Corona, CA

Difficulty is a 6 from a scale of 1-10. 10 being hardest. I did it from the ground with floor jack and jack stands, laying on my back and kneeling a lot. It will be easier on your knees and back to do it on a lift. You will need a spring compressor for the front struts.

Couple of thumbnail pics. First 2 are the fronts. The last 3 are the rears

These are M&S springs so no adjustments like coilovers. The gas station pic was right after the install. After the springs settled, the rears went down another 1.5" and the fronts 1" from the original pic. The rear needs to be raised .25"-.5" to eliminate the rear rake look

Its been a while. I have done some stuff, but nothing to share at this time. However, Seattle had a winter freeze over night. Neighborhood was an Ice Rink and Bloodshot was a Popsicle. A couple pics from earlier today.

I was never a fan of the OEM shift knob. I found this Hyundai Elantra N knob on ebay and followed this tuturial to remove and install the knob. From beginning to end about 30 mins.
I was hoping to use the red stitched shift boot that came with the Elantra N knob, but the boot was bigger than the K5 and wouldnt be a direct fit. To fit the N boot on the K5, I would have to remove the staples to seperate the boot and lower bracket, remove all the stitching, cut the leather, and stitch it back together. Not my specialty and the OEM boot looks great

There is another Hyundai N boot that fits with red stitching. If you get that one, just remove the lower bracket from both boots and reassemble. I might go that route later down the road

Installed the trunk pull handle. It is a nice feature to have. Very convenient that this should have been standard from factory. And no option to add this for the K5. I bought mine from Aliexpress for the Forte/Optima and it didnt come with hardware. Local hardware store had what I needed

You can see the holes are there after removing the trunk liner. Had to use long needle nose to get the bolts in the hole. Used a pick tool to puncture a hole in the liner and a drill bit to make the hole bigger to fit the screw. The little tabs are not needed and I cut them off. Finished screwing everything together and tested with success
