Lock button on Inside doors wont work when car is off

Same. There has to be a solution. I've literally never seen a car with automatic locks that don't let me lock the door.
Drives me crazy when I don't have the key fob, go into the garage, and find I forgot to lock the car. The inside door switch doesn't lock the car nor does the outside button. Have to go get the key fob to lock the doors.

Another oddity is...when you park the car and forget to lock it the car doesn't lock itself. But if you park the car and lock it then later unlock it with the key fob, if you don't open a door in 30 seconds the car will lock itself.

In my opinion this is a step in the wrong direction. Why would anyone not want to be able to lock the doors from the inside if the car is off?
...yet you can lock the doors from the inside when the engine is running...

Only makes sense to keep you from locking the key fob in the car is my guess. But once the key fob is on the outside of the car you should be able to lock it with the inside door switch. I can in my Kia Forte.

Just for fun...I went out and checked my car again.

I cannot lock the car with the inside driver's door switch with the door open - however - with the door closed and the key fob NOT inside the car I can lock the car with the inside switch.

I had no problem locking all the door from the inside with the car off and no key fob. I just pushed the master control and it locked all. The rear doors cannot be open from the inside but the fronts can but are locked from the outside. 2024 K5-EX
The issue is that you cannot lock the doors with the inside switch when the front doors are open (with or without the key fob).
