Has anyone gotten a muffler delete on their K5 yet? I wanted to know if it'll throw out any check engine lights if I end up doing it. I saw a video on some guy getting a Y-Pipe installed but i'm trying to play it safe and not have a check engine light on constantly.

Video I was referring to:

Just an update for anyone that is curious, I got the muffler delete and did not get a check engine light. My car now has some pretty cool burbles. :)

Hey I know this is old but I was wondering, is it too loud? I want to get the muffler delete but I’m really worried it will be too loud. I want a nice low rumble not a loud obnoxious one. Thank you!

It gives a deep tone and isn’t super obnoxious while driving, however the cold start might be a little loud

Do you happen to have a drive-by or a small take-off. I want to hear it while driving

I got a muffler delete on my 21 K5 GT-Line. You definitely get a drone noise. Not obnoxious though. Check engine light did come on. Mine cost $150. Muffler delete with a y pipe and 2 exhaust tips.

Hello, I wanted to get a muffler delete and a y-pipe as well. I was just wondering if it would void the warranty. I tried asking the Kia dealership but they haven’t responded.

Hi, did you install a replacement pipe that kept the 2.25” stock diameter? I’m seeing some get check engine light due to back pressure and I’m thinking that might prevent it.

It will not void the warranty unless they can prove a link between the muffler delete and the issue with the car to deny a claim. Look up Magnuson moss act.

Void is used incorrectly. The correct term is Deny Warranty work. Modifying a car will be a grey area when you take it in to the dealership. Each dealership will have their own guidelines they follow. They will contact KIA Support and they will make the decision if the repairs is covered under warranty

It would void warranty on exhaust. Not the rest of the car.
