Has anyone downloaded yet ? Thoughts, opinions ??
The interface seems to react quicker than before. The radio information is showing. Other than that there is not much that stands out.

The navigation did hang for a while on first use but has been running ok since.

Compared to the previous update where the nixie tubes were removed it's just a straightforward update.

I hate to sound like an idiot, but I've downloaded the files to the USB. There are several USB ports in the car. Which one do I use to update the car's system?
I have a 2022 K5 GT (not GT line)
If yours looks like the picture then the middle "USB" labeled one.

Found some info searching online about owners that contacted customer service. Seems the update is currently unavailable for all Kias and Hyundais with the large Gen 5W widescreen navigation system Seems to be an issue with the installation on some vehicles.

The only issue I'm having is the radio keeps deleting my radio preset and seat position settings and uses the presets of the 2nd profile. I'm going to try reinstall and see if it fixes the problem.

Kia updater page is announcing downloading downtime due to service maintenance for April 15,2023. Access to download might not be available during the maintenance period. This applies to all models.

Spring is normally one of the rollout timetable for the new version of the display/audio Update. This downtime might be to prepare the servers for the next version.

Notice | Official Kia Navigation Update Website

Kia sent out a press release that they will be providing Over-The-Air (OTA) updates to all vehicle in Europe this year. Starting with the 2022 models forward.

Kia enables over-the-air software updates across full model line-up.

I have found no confirmation that this will be the case for North America models.

Discussion starter · #40 · (Edited)
I don't expect Over-The-Air (OTA) to be active for the Spring (April or May) system update at least for the K5. The press release I posted is for EU countries starting in 2023. Europe if I'm correct did not receive the K5. I does mention that all vehicle MY22 (model year) and forward would be receiving OTA updates.

We do have vehicles in North America that are on the list that should be OTA compatible (example EV6).

It all depends when North America is schedule to start. Keep in mind that though Kia/Hyundai have informed that all 22 and up vehicle will have OTA updates there will be some terms and condition that will be imposed.

I read that you have to have Kia Connect Activated meaning you might have to register to the connected infrastructure if you haven't already.
