Hey there everyone!

My name is Alex and this is a first for Kia in my line of history!
I'm 26 years old and my first car was a used VW Jetta (07) I bought out of high school, it's been quite a journey with driving that little rabbit car, to then borrowing a Honda Pilot from my family due to some unfortunate circumstances... But now that I've got more bank saved and a stable savings/revenue I'm ready for a new car for the first time in my life!!!

My older brother sold me on the Kia K5 when I was just starting to look again (He's working towards getting a Forte GT) and after test-driving it I see why, but now I'm on the hunt having to deal with MSRP markups around me. 3 dealers I've been to have all brought the sticker price of a GT-Line up via 5,000 over sticker price and I'm at a loss! Gonna start looking at dealers that aren't so near to the city I'm in and hopefully I can find someone that can get me close to sticker price!

I'll be journaling my hunt for a K5 and hopefully soon my new car :)

Thank you for reading, I'm looking forward to talking more about this K5 journey and hopefully share the day I get the keys in hand and the car on the driveway!
(SOON I HOPE!)

Keep calling dealers. Some even went across country to buy one. Hopefully you dont have to go more than a state or 2 to find one at MSRP

Keep us posted in your journey
Sometimes it helps to car shop at the end of the Month.

If a dealer hasn't met his/her Monthly quota - sold enough cars this Month - he/she may be a little easier to price-haggle with.

Where are you located. Maybe someone on here can send you in the right direction.
Hello
I was successful in paying MSRP for the 2023 Gt Line AWD i purchased last month. I had to fight for the trade in price, but overall I did ok in this car purchasing climate. Don't be afraid to shop dealers and be patient. Someone will want to make a sale

If you update your profile with your location (at least general location), it could make it easier for others to help you.

Good luck with your hunt. I own a 2021 K5 ex with prem. package and in the process of trying to find new K5 2023 ex but no dealer has them, they only have the GT line which I do not want. The dealer that I spoke with says the 2024 will be able to order (build my own) by end of June and of course will be dealing with MSRP with no mark up. Those dealers should be arrested for trying to mark up a product that has a MSRP they tell me about supple and demand (WELL MAKE MORE K5 KIA !!!!). I live in NY and have 2 dealers near me that will sell at MSRP - my trade in - military discount for me .Also the doc. fee in NY is lock at a max of $175. Conn and NJ dealers have quoted me from $600 to $700 for a doc. fee!! They to should be arrested for robbery.
My name is Demond, I want to tell my experience buying my 2023 Kia K5 GT line. Purchase my car from Capital Kia of Columbus, I had a pre-approved from my credit union for about the price of the car plus or minus a couple of thousand, My credit union said all I have to do is call if the price varies to get the exact amount approved. This is my fourth time having a buy a car with pre-approved already which I love better, because I'm ahead of the game with the dealership, this is my first time dealing with Kia. Going to the dealership or I know what I wanted of wolf gray Kia K5 GT line I know the options might have varied but I knew what I wanted. Brandon was my salesman we work at a deal I always ask tax title out the door price, he asked me if I had a trade in I said no because I know how they work it you never tell them you have a trade in till you get your deal then you tell
them at the last minute. I had no trade in wanted to keep my old car which was a for a fusion . We agreed on a price I believe it's like close to 33,000 can't remember exact price it was the high 32s. He proceeded to ask me for my bank information I told him then that I want him to run it one time my credit because I already have a pre-approved but my credit union, My coworker at work said that they really don't like that because they can't make no money off of you. So they ran my credit nine times which I was ****** because I have pre-approved for my bank I had just got my credit together and my bank knows what I make because they see my payroll checks each week so they had no problem giving me the loan. So they send it over to my bank finally I left, next day they call and said they forgot to add some type of add-on which is another $1,400 which with some BS right there, so I agreed to it. I picked up my car after couple days after Christmas cause we had bad weather. Brandon greeted me when I got to the dealership he was starting to plot right away he asked me if I had a down payment I said heck no, The bank haven't sent no check yet or I did not sign no paperwork. He said okay let's size some paperwork so when it gets down to the cost of course it was changed already which I agreed to then he start to talk about this $1,000 again, I said what are you talking about. Somehow I ended up in the finance room and we was going back and forth over $1,000 course I started to get frustrated and start talking like I leave there's other other dealerships, so we started to go back and forth over $1,000 and somehow somebody pulled my deal up on the iPad and there was zero down my deal, the pre-proof deal save me if not they was going to want that thousand dollars or I would have left that car there. Brandon apologize said that was somebody else deal they was talking about but they was trying to get the $1,000 out of me. My point is dealerships are crooked so you got to watch them and play that game too. They hate when you come with pre-approved because they can't get no money down.

Your story seems interesting, only problem is, I can't understand what the hell you are trying to say Demond!!!
Sorry was using Google talk, to type. Basically be careful at dealerships, salesman will try add to price of car to make their commission more.

Every dealer that tells me they have an add on or mark ups, I say no ****, my trade has a 5k markup to. They don't know what to say 😂. When buying my 22cx5 dealer tried adding 1200 for tint and ppf over edge of hood. I told em myhard to find 21 bronco sport had a 3k extreme weather package with weather mats, bug reflector, door sills, bumper protector, tint. I have not paid over msrp for any car. I have bought 5 through covid. And have not lost anything on my trades. I've actually got discounts or rebates on most . Got 500 off msrp on my k5
