I really like that they didn't make it a solid light bar across the back. Breaking it up gives it more unique look.

Fantastic looking car @TonyF, congratulations! What were you driving before the K5? Also how's the 2.5L engine in the GT-Line?

I had a base model Optima that I turned in early on lease. My GT-Line only has the 1.6 L engine and it is a little peppier than my previous car but still not terribly fast.

The 1.6L is still a very solid engine. It must be a huge difference compared to the base Optima.

So I have a LX and mine doesn't go all the way across but I noticed the "reflectors" for lights...does anyone know if all K5s are suppose to be all the way across?? I can post pictures

Hey all,

New K5 GT-Line AWD owner here and I love the car so far! When I was looking into purchasing the car, I saw the tail lights and absolutely loved them. However, my K5 doesn't seem to be doing this?

Is there something I have to do to make that happen?

Edit: Also, when I hit the brakes, it doesn't light up all the LEDs in the back. It is almost as if they aren't even there, but they clearly are.

The center combo lights only come on when the night time lights are on, they aren't really brake lights though.

However, all the lights are LEDs, with the exception of the turn signals and reverse lights.

OK I got you on the center combo lights. Really didn't even think to just turn the lights on...enjoying the auto headlight feature too much I suppose (my old car was a 2009 Ford Focus haha) I will check this out later, thank you!

When it comes to the turn signals, what I am referencing is what I saw in this video:

This appears to be a video of a stock K5 unless I'm mistaken. I reached out to my sales guy but he says he knows nothing about that being a feature...Ugh

If you mean the flashing of the LED lamps, that's just the strobing effect from the LEDs and the camera shutter. lol At the right frequency and timing, the lights can sometimes look like they are doing a scanning effect.

I know some people thought the "heartbeat" lights actually did have a heartbeat-like pulse to it due to seeing some videos showing it but not talking about it. Would've been cool if it were the case.

Damn, I feel dumb. Yeah, I saw another video that looked like it had that effect and I played that portion in slow motion and there was a section where it was not doing the pulsing thing when the camera was moving but then started back up again when it got to a certain angle. At least I feel better not going crazy thinking "I HAVE TO FIND THAT!!!"

The "heartbeat" lights should definately pulse like that when the car is initially started, like at least twice. It should also have an optional heartbeat sound effect to go along with it. It'd be cooler than that red light on KITT in Knight Rider.

Dude the k5 as an anti-hero on a new Knight Rider

I’ve been able to get the heartbeat to pulse I can maybe post, i usually get a better angle of it doing it on Instagram story record and the car facing directly to sunlight and you also have to move from side to side for it to do it.

Shows Power folding windows as Standard for GT Line, yet mine does not have it.... does anyone else NOT have that as standard ? ( 2022 K5 GT Line w/ Premium Package )
