Hello! I bought a new Kia K5 on Saturday and sadly having a few small problems that I would like to get other’s opinions on. The first problem comes from the air conditioning panel. if you were to place your hand under the panel and push up, you will hear a squeaky noise that sounds like an old bed. every time I go and stop, the noise proceeds. Has anyone else had that problem? The second problem comes from the compartment below the air conditioning panel where one might throw their wallet or miscellaneous stuff. The rubber seems to have an air pocket growing in it and seems uneven. The third problem comes from the driver side window and everytime I am on the interstate it seems to make a whistling wind sound. Would love any and all feedback! Thank you

Yup I have that creaking noise of the AC panel. It is so annoying. Any update on your car?

There is a growing complaint among k5 owners with wind noise coming from the drivers side window. Kia is getting the complaints and were all hopeful their engineers will develop a fix for better insulation or thicker window. But know its being reported by owners as a design flaw of excessive wind noise on drivers side. You can report it to your dealer service dept.

I have the drivers side whistling wind issue (at low low speeds too) as well! However I recently got my windows tinted which has resolved the whistling noise about 80%. Perhaps that little bit of film creates enough of a seal. Still will log a complaint though to build the file!

I am going through EXACTLY the same thing! They said you can try lemon law but that's more trips to the shop, this and that. Dealer told me it's a manufacturer defect and I have to take it up with Kia Consumer Affairs, didn't want to/nor suggest serving it. Idk what to do. KCA doesn't/can't do much either.

It takes less than 5 minutes if your pretty handy maybe more just to be careful not to break anything. I didn’t have the correct tape so I just used some Velcro (soft side only) and no tools required. Keep in mind I haven’t had the care for more that a week and it was already bothering me and my wife.

^ original tape, keep in mind where the clips are so you know where to pull the trim off.

^ those two strips on the ac panel are what makes it squeak against the trim piece.

job complete and replace trim piece.

Just did this while I already had my AC controls out to run a tucked usb to the front center console pocket. It's crazy to me that there are so many other spots where the plastic rubs another trim panel made of plastic. I aslo ran a strip of TESA tape along the inside edge of the longer section on the trim you remove from the console. The edge facing the cupholders. It has visible marks on it where the panels touch.
