I think it might also be a part of the Blindspot Collision Avoidance Assist system. With the car parked, go to 'Driver Assistance' > 'Blind-Spot Safety' from the 'Settings' menu in your dashboard display. Then change it to either 'Warning-Only' or 'Off'. You can also change how loud the warning is. If you choose to turn the sound off, the warning system will vibrate your steering wheel when it goes off instead.
