Can the stock shift knob be changed out to oem part #467202T200VA (=T200CA3)?
Will it fit and just drop in?

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the stock shifter either. It's kind of fugly.

I'm not too picky about the shifter knob, but it would be nice to have a nice swap for a small, more ergonomic one. I wonder if any of the shift knobs for 2019-2020 Optimas would fit the K5 as well...

That's exactly my thoughts! I'm coming from a manual Mazda3 so having a more ergonomic Shift Knob would be nice as I have a habit of always resting and gripping my hand on there. Plus I like to do sort of a side hold when shifting, which the T shape doesn't feel to good doing that.

I wouldn't mind just being able to swap in the KDM shifter, I'd much rather have the dial than the T-handle.
