Speaker full blast noise comes on spontaneously

I have a 2022 Kia K5 GT with Bose speaker system. I've owned for 8 months and 3 times I turned on the car only to have the speakers come on full blast with deafening noise--even though the radio is off. Radio volume dial and radio on/off has no effect. So, the issue does not appear to be related to the radio.

I read in the manual that the exhaust note can be changed. Interestingly, when I step on the gas, the noise from the speakers gets even louder. When I slow down the noise gets a little milder. Any connection between the exhaust note and the speakers??

The only way to get the noise to stop is to turn off the car and let it sit for a while. Temperature issue??

I have been to the Kia dealership and their only solution was to reset the system to factory default. I would appreciate any suggestions or thoughts. Dave S

Which drive mode are you set to? I believe it should also quiet down when you select a milder drive mode, like SMART or Normal compared to Sport and Sport+.

Also, sometimes cars with artificial exhaust notes have a setting to turn it off on the infotainment screen, or at least have a lower setting. Maybe that's something you can look into if you haven't already?
This just happened to me today. I had active engine sound on the highest setting (not sure that this matters). When I started my 2022 K5 GT today there was this horrible screeching coming from the speakers driven by the cars RPM. Even when I turned the volume to zero it was still full blast. I finally got into the menu and turned active engine sound off but when I turned up the volume it went straight to full blast. I shut the car off and on a couple of times and same thing. I shut it off and didn't turn it on again. Car has less than 2,000 miles. Got it back in February. I was going to have it put on a flatbed back to the dealer because I didn't know if this would decide to go full blast when driving. I'm afraid I would jerk the wheel it is that loud. Anybody else have this happen and brought it back to the dealer for repair?

No the OP is not just talking about the active engine sound how it normally sounds when turned on, It goes to a volume I had no idea the system was capable of. It's frightening how loud it is. I have never had a car do this before and if this was to happen randomly when driving, it would be a serious safety issue.
This speaker noise problem is totally random & happens on starting the car. To KunoMochi's suggestion my Drive mode has always been in Normal. I go back to the temperature possibility.
Of the 3 or 4 times this has happened - only once was the car sitting in a shaded spot w no direct sun. I now carry a set of headphones to dampen the noise for the next time. I've let the car sit for about an hour to cool off, start it & all is normal. All has been fine for about a week.
Kcranmer, Suggestions from your dealer?

kcranmer, See K5 app start below from camatuse - he may be on to the problem. Dave S

I never took it to the dealer. Also my car was in the garage when it happened. It has been Hot temperature wise but car was not in any direct sun. I did have Active Engine sound on highest setting. I have since turned it completely off as I am suspecting it might be the issue. I never use the app or the remote start function on the fob to start the car. I also put some ear plugs in the car to stick in my ears on initial start up just in case. I mostly take it out on weekends so i don't know how often I might have it happen. I really hope never again because it certainly wasn't fun.
I see someone referred my original thread and I wish this was the answer. I’m back because I went searching again as my car has done begun doing this again. I stopped using the app all together so I now know that’s not the issue. It’s now happened a total of about 6-8 times and my car is inoperable for about 30 minutes until the car decides to stop making the noise and I can drive it. I have tried EVERYTHING when it happens. Unplug everything, turn off all radio and AC, try different driving modes, etc. I also keep my active sound design off at ALL times because this is what helped the first few times. The only thing that turns it off for a second is when I click the reset button on the screen dash and then it turns back on. I’ve tried to bring to Kia but to no avail they just say “you’re volume must be on”. I’m happy (in a weird way) someone else is having this issue cause I thought I was going crazy. I have a 2022 Kia K5 EX with Bose so I’m wondering if it’s the Bose sound system hat is the issue. Anyone else have this happen again or found the source of issue?

I can say that I don't have the Bose system in my car and don't have the issue so it seems to be experienced among people that have the Bose system, or at least the one with the larger infotainment screen.

Just out of curiosity, what is the current version of your headunit software? I'm wondering if it's happening to a certain headunit software version and if updating to the latest version might help.

In short, current version is XXX.XXX.85W_M.V008.001.220504 (the XXX are placeholders as those parameters vary depending on model year and region).
I just submitted a formal claim with Kia Consumer Affairs and will let you know what they say. May just need enough formal complaints to get it fixed!
This exact same thing happened to us a few weeks ago. This may be way out there but by any chance was anyone else parked near EV charging stations? We were at a solar powered community and someone was charging very close by. Long shot but in the absence of no other solution, thought I would just throw it out there.

This just happed to my 2023 Kia K5 GT with only 2K miles on it. The loud screeching sound came on randomly when I turned my car on after stopping by the store. I was able to stop that loud noise after turning off active sound design. It seems to have gone away though when I turned my car and back on. Im afraid it will come back. I’ve scheduled the dealership to look at it. Have they diagnosed your issue?
I am now joining the party as this is the ONLY thread on the problem. I just bought a 23 Kia K5 GT in April. About 1K on the dash today and it happened to me. Turned off the exhausts sound and that fixed the static, but the button click beep is still insanely loud and I didn't dare try the radio. Has a true solution been found for this yet? Happened moments ago so I haven't been able to just let it sit for a couple hours.

Notes: I was NOT parked near EV station. I started the car about 15 minutes before this incident and with extremely hot plastics surrounding radio. Did NOT happen on this start. Happened after leaving the store when it wasn't nearly as hot. Dealer had no helpful answer as I tried a factory reset. His only suggestion was disconnect battery for 20 minutes and do a hard reset that way. Worthless 🤦‍♂️

What is the best way to go about this? I'd be happy to take a moment to do it.

I had the same loud static and beep when pressing the buttons. The issue stopped randomly. The only issue I have now is when I push the car to 100 with active sound on there is a weird sound coming from the speakers. Did the hard reset fix the issue for you?
Factory has not

Factory reset did not work. On vacation so I have not had a chance to disconnect battery. Will be testing after a cool off overnight. If still does not randomly fix - ill be testing the hard reset. (Have the tools - just being lazy)
I wonder if disconnecting the microphone under the cowl panel would stop this problem permanently?

you won't have the engine enhancement sound anymore.

This is how they do it on the Kia Forte GT:
