The USB port I am referring to is the one marked "A" and needed for Apple Car Play as the EX model is NOT wireless. Yes, for phone calls and streaming music from the Iphone, the IPhone does not have to be plugged into the middle USB port. There is no USB port for apple car play its only wireless if you mean USB port I had to convert all my usb files to MP3 for car to recognize usb that works fine but apple car play has a drop out problem Kia has a update fix if you ask for it but I have heard that the fix is only lasting about a week
Sorry you must have optional 10inch screen 8in is wireless only for carplayThe USB port I am referring to is the one marked "A" and needed for Apple Car Play as the EX model is NOT wireless. Yes, for phone calls and streaming music from the Iphone, the IPhone does not have to be plugged into the middle USB port.
As for the "USB Music" all files are and have been in the MP3 format and were working for 2 months and then stopped, as the screenshot also shows the icon is grayed out.
KIA tells me that they have never heard of USB Music being used; as it was not only used for the Optima but that 2018 model also stored the music in its own radio storage.

Yep mine doesn't and has not worked since I bought the car. And neither do my back speakersAnyone having issues with playing USB Music with a thumb drive in the same port that is used for Apple Car Play?
It was working for the first 2 months and then suddenly stopped.

We have a 2021 k5, right now all ports don't work for us. Waiting for an update from dealer.I was surprised and extremely agitated to find that my ‘23 GT-Line that touted “4 USB ports” only has ONE port that’s functional for any data devices (like using my iPhone for CarPlay apps OR my USB thumb drive with 128GB of my music, but not both), and the other 3 ports are for charging purposes only. Coming from GMs that had multiple USB ports where I could use my Apple CaPlay (for Google Maps and other apps) and my thumb drives for music at the same time on other USB ports I just assumed all the USB ports would be equal. Nope. One data device at a time only. I even bought a USB splitter (allowing 2 devices in one port) but that was a no go. I’m seriously hoping that the rumors of a future software upgrade for the 10.25” screen will make CarPlay wireless as it is with the smaller 8” screen option. It’s crazy that there is only one functional USB data port and the other three are for charging only.
