So I saw someone running coilovers from a 2020 Optima on their K5 and was wondering if that was a bad idea. I want to lower my car but the only lowering springs that seem to be on the market at the moment (M&S America) are sold out and was wondering if this was an alternative.

Video I was referencing:

There's another lowering spring option K5 owners use other than M&S, which is the Adro lowering springs

I remember someone here saying the M&S feels basically the same as stock, just a little bit stiffer. You're not gonna be bouncing up and down, as if your in a bounce house or anything of the sort. I'm assuming Adro is probably going to be the same. Most lowering springs aren't gonna be that different from one another, just ride height. As for coilovers, you'll have the ability to tweak the suspension to how you like it with dampers, i.e. you can make the ride softer or stiffer. I've never heard of Rev9, so I can't speak on how the quality of those coilovers are

Since this is my wife's car and I don't think she will be taking corners like she's running from the PoPo... I decided to keep the install simple and go with M&S springs. Paid $280 from M&S America.
Looking forward to seeing you GT-Line dropped. This weekend I added rear window visor and ordered a strut bar. Other mods I am considering is painting the caliper\Caliper covers , K&N drop-in filter and adding catch cans. But I am still on the fence on the cans....

One thing when you get the car lowered is see if they can keep the rear wheels vertical. Some had the lowering springs and ended up having the rear wheels bowing outward. Keeping it tucked in nice and neat from front to back and all. lol
